2015 CBC Scholars Luncheon
The annual CBC Scholars luncheon was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Francesca’s on Chestnut. Current CBC Scholars and the CBC Scientific Directors and staff attended the event. The Scholars discussed the program’s influence on their academic careers while enjoying a delightful lunch. They stated that the award allowed them to attend conferences and workshops and network with scientists with whom they were either actively collaborating with or in the same research fields. Many Scholars thought their leadership and organizational skills were strengthened by hosting the Loop Connections Seminar series and serving as judges at the annual Citywide Chicago Public Schools Student Science Fair. In addition, they enjoyed the interaction with students and faculty from the three CBC universities. The luncheon closed with the Scholars envisioning creative ways to continue contributing to the Chicago community and enhancing interactions between the three CBC universities.
