Postdoctoral Research Award Recipients Publish High-Impact Papers
The CBC is proud to report that two CBC Postdoctoral Research (PDR) Award recipients, Stefani Spranger and Guanqun Zheng, have recently published results from their work in Nature and Nature Methods, respectively.
Spranger (right), a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Thomas Gajewski’s lab at the Ben May Department for Cancer Research at UChicago, received a CBC PDR Award in Spring 2014, for a project titled: “Influence of specific oncogenic pathways on T cell infiltration in primary melanoma.” As required by the PDR Award terms, part of the reported work was conducted at a CBC university core facility, in her case, the Genomics Core Facility and Center of Research Informatics at UChicago.

Zheng (right) is a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Tao Pan’s lab at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UChicago. She received her PDR Award in Fall 2014 for a project titled: “Development of high throughput methods for quantitative sequencing of transfer RNA.” Zheng used the Genomics Core Facility at UChicago to fulfill the CBC PDR award requirements.
