CBC at Illinois Ignite 2018
CBC member institutions Northwestern University, The University of Chicago and University of Illinois at Chicago, along with University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Illinois Institute of Technology, came together to showcase their innovations at the inaugural Illinois Ignite
Academic innovation was on display at the Big Ten Conference Center in Rosemont, Illinois, at the first ever Illinois Ignite, hosted by UChicago, UIC, IIT, UIUC and Northwestern. The event, which took place on September 27, 2018, brought together university innovators, local startups, investors and the community of enablers, including the CBC, Innovations and New Ventures (INVO), Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and IllinoisVENTURES.
Topics included ‘Breakthroughs in Oncology’, ‘Frontiers in Neuroscience’, ‘Network Security, Mobile Computing & AI’, ‘Materials by Design’, ‘Data Analytics & Robotics’, and ‘Social Good & Sustainability’. Ample opportunity was provided for networking and preliminary partnering discussions.
The CBC was well represented at the event, with numerous past and present CBC awardees and community members prominent on the agenda. Additionally, CBC Executive Director Jim Audia moderated one of the sessions.
